Science & culture at the Royal Palace 2017
The Belgian Science Policy Office (BELSPO, www.belspo.be) coordinates major research programmes and provides the Federal government with all the data needed to make decisions about sustainable development, the effects of climate change, biodiversity, energy, health, mobility and aspects concerning the information society. It is also responsible for federal scientific institutes which, in collaboration with other European Union countries, are constantly developing more initiatives by building bridges between high-level research and its promotion among the general public.
It is within this context that the "HEAVEN!" exhibition (www.hemelciel.be), a BELSPO initiative, has been organised in the frame of the summer event "Science and Culture at the Royal Palace".
In collaboration with the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, the ten federal scientific establishments and the National Geographic Institute, BELSPO is offering Belgian and international visitors the opportunity to open their minds to art and science via an original insight into our federal cultural and scientific heritage.
Originating from a variety of backgrounds, our scientists consider the sky in their own way, through their own discipline, and offer the opportunity to rediscover the sky thanks to a selection of pieces that echo each other.
With this exhibition, BELSPO is participating in the popularisation of knowledge and the promotion of federal collections for the pleasure of all.
