The Wehubit Programme of the Belgian development agency Enabel selected four new projects aiming to build the resilience of cities through inclusive and sustainable development. Each of the selected organisations is awarded a grant to scale-up its activities. Since 2018, Wehubit invests in digital social innovation to address societal challenges by means of financial and technical support to public or civil society organisations in Belgium’s partner countries.

Brussels, 29 March 2021 - The Belgian development agency Enabel and VVOB have agreed to work more closely together to increase the impact of Belgian international solidarity in the education sector.

Brussels, 22 March 2021 – The Belgian development agency Enabel and the Federal Public Service Mobility and Transport signed a Cooperation Agreement. The organisations can now pool and share useful expertise to serve their international cooperation activities.

Yesterday, Enabel signed the official agreement with Jordan to start activities in the country. These activities are part of a European Union regional programme, which aims to strengthen the resilience of Syrian refugees as well as the host communities in four countries in the region.

A new district hospital recently opened its doors, providing health care to Nyarugenge citizens, a district of Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda. The tremendous project including design, construction and equipment was funded by Belgium and implemented by Enabel, the Belgian development agency, in partnership with the City of Kigali and Rwanda’s Ministry of Health.

Brussels, 9 December 2020 | On 8 December, Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, together with Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo and other European leaders, launched the D4D Hub, a global multi-stakeholder platform that will mark a turning point in the EU’s international partnerships to support a human-centric digital transformation. Eleven EU Member States, including Belgium, have committed to cooperate towards a European digital development strategy. 

On 1 May and for one year, Enabel and LuxDev took on the co-presidency of the European Practitioners' Network.

The Practitioners' Network brings together 17 European governmental agencies with a view of jointly implementing projects of the European Development Cooperation. The network is the partner of choice of the European Commission for executing European development projects worldwide.
