Federal Government Debt at the end of March 2023

As of the end of March 2023, the federal government debt amounted to EUR 492.945 billion. This means that the debt increased by EUR 11.73 billion compared to February.
In net terms (after deducting placements and securities held in portfolio), the federal government debt increased in March by EUR 7.09 billion, to EUR 475.699 billion.
The net balance to be financed in March was EUR 7.09 billion (to the detriment of the Treasury).

The average duration of the federal government debt decreased by 0.15 years to 10.37 years in March 2023, while the average interest rate of the debt instruments increased by 0.08% to 1.62%. The 12-month and 60-month refinancing risks amounted to 13.45% and 37.64%, respectively.
