Federal Government Debt at the end of May 2021

At the end of May 2021, the federal state's debt amounted to EUR 441.937 billion. The federal government debt thus decreased by 1.587 billion euros compared to April 2021.
In net terms (after deducting the placements and the securities held in portfolio), the federal government debt amounted to EUR 427.212 billion, which represents an increase of EUR 3.286 billion.
The net financing requirements for May 2021 were 3.460 billion euros.

The average term of the federal government debt decreased by 0.14 years to 10.18 years in May 2021, while the average interest rate of the debt instruments slightly increased at 1.61%. Refinancing risks at 12 and 60 months were 13.16% and 37.20% respectively.
