Federal Government Debt at the end of March 2021

At the end of March 2021, the Federal Government Debt amounted to EUR 443.334 billion. The Federal Government Debt thus increased by 6.809 billion euros compared to February 2021.
In net terms (after deducting the placements and the securities held in portfolio), the federal government debt amounted to EUR 429.856 billion, which represents an increase of EUR 6.178 billion compared to February 2021.
The net financing requirements for March 2021 were 6.253 billion euros.

The average life of the federal government debt fell by 0.05 years to 10.26 years in March 2021, while the average interest rate of the debt instruments fell by 0.03% to 1.60%. Refinancing risks at 12 and 60 months were 12.68% and 37.15% respectively.
